CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. — Police in Chautauqua County are investigating whether two bank robberies are connected to a statewide series of burglaries.

Jamestown Police say a man entered the First Niagara Bank on Spring Street just before noon on Monday. He handed the teller a note demanding cash. He got away with an undetermined amount of money.

Two hours later, Ellicott Police say a man held up the Jamestown Savings Bank on Main Street in Falconer. Police say this man is similar in appearance to a suspect who has committed bank robberies all over New York State.

Anyone with information is asked to call Jamestown Police at 716-483-TIPS or Ellicott Police at 716-661-7232. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
