Now on to the race for the 60th State Senate District race, where Republican incumbent Mark Grisanti declared victory late last night. YNN's Meg Rossman has more on the two-term Senator's plans for the new district.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — "We ran,” State Senator Mark Grisanti said. “We ran a race."

And won a three-way race for the new 60th State Senate District.

"This was not a race about Democrat versus Republican; it was a race about Western New York versus downstate,” Grisanti said Tuesday night. “You saw what happened in 2009 and 2010."

Declaring victory at the Avant Building in Downtown Buffalo late Tuesday night, Grisanti won another two-year term in the new district, edging out Conservative Chuck Swanick and Democratic challenger Mike Amodeo with 50 percent of the vote.

"Please know that I'll continue to hold you accountable as my state senator for the promises that you make now and in the future," Amodeo conceded.

Due to redistricting, Grisanti will no longer represent the City of Niagara Falls and portions of Niagara County, instead focusing solely on Erie, though he said the issues remain the same.

"I want to continue moving forward. For the next two years, I want to continue to do what I have been doing and that is lowering taxes, cutting government spending, bringing regulations down."

The two-term Senator is best known for casting a deciding vote in favor of marriage equality in New York State, something Swanick said he opposed during his campaign.

Swanick declined our request for an interview.
