BUFFALO, N.Y. — Members of the Parkside Community Association held a meeting Tuesday evening to discuss results of a study done on the safety of the intersection of Parkside and Florence Avenues.

The study, performed by Bergmann Associates, showed the dangers of the intersection near Delaware Park, which has seen three times more accidents than the average intersection.

The Department of Public Works has recently added a new light and two new signs along Parkside Avenue, but says that more safety additions would be costly.

Buffalo Public Works Commissioner Steve Stepniak said, "To change the configuration of this roadway, there would be a lot of funding involved there, and it would be very complicated because of the right of way issues adjacent to the park. But we're going to look at all those options and put a price tag to all of them."

There have been more than twenty car accidents at the intersection of Parkside and Florence since mid-2006. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
