Millions secured to repair 2009 flooding damage

  • Text size: + -

WESTERN NEW YORK — Millions of dollars are headed to Western New York to repair roadways heavily damaged from severe flooding four years ago.

Congressman Chris Collins says the Federal Highway Administration is sending nearly $7 million to areas in Western and Central New York to help fix roads that were damaged in August 2009 in southern Erie, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties.

The funding will cover the cost of emergency repairs that were made shortly after the storm, and will fund permanent repairs on highways and roadways on federal lands that were damaged as a result of the storm damage.
