Bills with Short Week; Jackson Out for Thursday

  • Text size: + -

The Bills with another loss in New England drops the team to 3-6 now on the season. A quick turnaround to prepare for Thursday's home game versus Miami - the game has sold out and will be seen locally on TV.

Some positives for Buffalo as the team racked up a whopping 35 first downs and 481 yards of offense. But mistakes continue to plague the team, 14 penalties for 148 yards, and three turnovers. The final one - a Ryan Fitzpatrick interception in the final seconds as the Bills tried to score the winning touchdown.
On the final drive, the Bills lost two timeouts late due to injuries, and the loss makes a path to the playoffs that much harder.

"We probably on the one, would've been on the ball, and calling a play and going with the two timeouts in our pockets," said quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. "And then Donald (Jones) going down, unfortunately, yeah we lost our last one and it changed it a little bit. Those were just two unfortunate things that happened."

"It makes our goal harder," said head coach Chan Gailey. "It does. If you could've won this one it would've made our goal easier. But it makes our goal harder. But I think we'll get there. I know I'm in the minority. But thank goodness I got a group of guys in that room in there that I think think the same thing."

Bills running back Fred Jackson will not play in Thursday night's game versus Miami due to a concussion, Gailey announced today. Jackson left Sunday's game versus New England late in the 4th quarter after a big hit by Brandon Spikes. The Bills will now lean heavily on third year back C.J. Spiller.
